The Lincoln College Cross Country team ran at the Bradley “Pink” Classic held at Newman Golf Course in Peoria. More than 30 schools were represented.

Lincoln College’s Austin Webster once again finished strong for the Lynx. Webster placed 7th overall in the “White” division, running the 8k course in a time of 26:26. Lynx running in the top five for the LC men’s squad were Zach Podunajec(145th), Earl Armstrong(149th), Christian Raymond(161st) and Eduardo Lopez(175th). The Lynx team finished 16th overall. 

The Lynx ladies team was led by Sala Hanne who placed 71st and ran the 6k course in a time of 25:15. Others in the top 5 for the Lynx were Deanna Anglin(107th), Jasmine Brooks(120th), Amber Pierce(152nd) and Markayla Rodgers(153rd).

After the meet, Coach Herron said, “I was happy with many of our performances today. We had a few of our athletes banged up or sick but they fought through. This was another pretty tough course and the level of competition was outstanding.” Herron added, “I saw a high level of determination in most of our athletes. We have this week off to get ready for our Region 24 meet on the 27th. We will need to need to focused if we want to do something special in the post season.”

The Lynx are in action again on October 27th for the Region 24 meet at Eastern Illinois University. The women race at 3:00 and the men’s race will start at 3:45.
