Three Cross Country athletes finished their season at the National Meet held in El Dorado, Kansas. The meet featured over 330 athletes in both the men’s and women’s races and more than 50 teams were represented at Nationals.
In the men’s race, Austin Webster ran the 8k course in a time of 26:36 placing him 44th overall and narrowly missing All American. In the women’s race Sala Hanne ran the 5k course in 20:36 placing her 125th and Deanna Anglin was 244th with a time of 22:38.
Coach Herron said, “I was very pleased with the effort that our athletes put into this race. They were able to finish this season on a positive note. They did a fine job of representing our team and our institution.”
All three runners are finishing their careers at Lincoln College and are leaving their mark, noted Herron. “This was Austin Webster’s finial race for us since he will be leaving us before the Spring. He finishes his career here as our number 3 runner on our top 10 list. Sala and Deanna finish their cross country careers here at Lincoln as the 4th and 6th runners on the top 10 list. They will now have some time off and then they start getting ready for the upcoming track season. I can’t wait to take this positive momentum into the Track season.”
